NTK chief coordinator Seeman campaigned in the Andipatti constituency of Theni district, alleging that elections are being reduced to a profit-driven exercise. He said people who “invest” money to win polls would only aim to recover it many times over.

Pointing to local issues, Seeman listed forest department-related disputes, the lack of access to the Kannagi temple, and concerns over the proposed eviction of around 80 villages in Varushanadu. He also criticised quarrying activity, alleging that mountains are being cut for stone and blasted with large quantities of explosives.

Seeman argued that when cash is distributed for votes, democracy is replaced by “rule of money”. He asked what those in power had done for the public and urged voters not to lose self-respect by being drawn only to freebies.

Targeting the DMK and AIADMK, he questioned how long voters would continue supporting the two symbols and asked whether TASMAC would be shut or crime would stop if either party returned to power. He further claimed both parties were essentially the same.

He also questioned whether it was democratic for a brother and a younger brother to contest as candidates backed by the two rival parties in Andipatti.
