Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the Tamil New Year by visiting the Delhi residence of Vice President C P Radhakrishnan. He met Radhakrishnan and conveyed his New Year wishes.
During the visit, the Prime Minister also offered prayers at the home’s puja room. Radhakrishnan presented Modi with a picture of Lord Murugan.
On the occasion, Modi extended greetings to people through a message posted in Tamil. He said he prayed for a year filled with happiness, success and good health.
The Prime Minister described the day as a celebration of renewal, hope and new beginnings, and a moment to honour the pride of Tamil culture. He noted that Tamil literature, music, art, philosophy and devotion continue to inspire people worldwide.
Modi added that the festival should strengthen unity in society and, inspired by Tamil culture, people should aim for new heights of success while deepening their bond with nature.
