SIVAGANGA: Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) coordinator Seeman, speaking during election campaigning at Thirupuvanam in Sivaganga district, questioned why people should “hold out their hands” for ₹1,000 or ₹2,000.
In his speech, he used a “one-sided love” metaphor to describe his long-running political appeal, saying he has been “shouting” for years and would win if people understood his message. He also claimed that voters believe others’ promises but laugh at his.
Seeman went on to make a series of expansive welfare pledges, including offering a helicopter per household, one kilogram of gold for every family, and one kilogram of diamond for newly married women, along with arrangements for honeymoon travel to a country of their choice.
He further said he would provide government jobs for one or two children in each household, asserted that North Indians would not be needed in the state, and promised skill training aligned with education. He also spoke about shutting TASMAC outlets with a “big lock” and stopping the production and sale of liquor, while asking people to consume existing stock as no new supply would come.
He added that after work, people could instead be offered palm toddy and coconut toddy, stating he would make them available.
