Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Nagercoil on Tuesday (April 15) to campaign for NDA candidates in Kanyakumari district.
According to the report, the NDA is contesting across the district’s six constituencies, with the BJP in four seats, the TMC contesting one seat on the lotus symbol, and the AIADMK contesting one seat. Modi travelled from Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram and then flew by helicopter to Nagercoil in the evening.
He arrived at the Armed Forces ground and proceeded by car to the Kamarajar statue junction at Vepamooodu, where he paid floral tributes. The roadshow then began and covered about one kilometre, ending near the Anna statue at Vadasery.
Modi rode in an open jeep along with AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran, former state BJP president K. Annamalai, and former Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan. After the campaign, he also paid tributes at the Anna statue, the MGR statue and to a portrait of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, and NDA candidates present at the venue were introduced to him.
The report added that Modi is scheduled to campaign again on April 18 in Coimbatore in support of NDA candidates.
