Police in Maharashtra’s Nashik are investigating allegations of sexual misconduct and pressure to convert religion at a TCS-run BPO office, and say the probe has revealed links to a Malaysian preacher.
The case surfaced after complaints in February that women employees were being subjected to harassment at the workplace. Nashik Police then launched a covert inquiry to verify the claims.
As part of the operation, several people—including four women police personnel—joined the office as housekeeping staff. During the inquiry, investigators found that the accused TCS employees were in contact with a Malaysia-based preacher identified as Imran.
A Special Investigation Team has traced WhatsApp groups linked to the accused. Some chats discussing co-workers were found deleted, and efforts are under way to retrieve them with forensic assistance.
Investigators also allege that team leaders arrested in the case repeatedly pressured colleagues to follow Muslim practices. The accused HR manager, Nida Khan, remains absconding, while the number of complainants has increased from nine to 12.
