TVK leader Vijay conducted a roadshow campaign in Chennai on Tuesday (April 15), as the election is just eight days away. He canvassed in multiple areas, beginning with T Nagar and later moving through Egmore and Triplicane.
According to the report, Vijay had earlier started campaigning from Perambur and also campaigned in Kolathur, where Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is contesting. A large crowd gathered there, and the campaign was reportedly cut short midway.
After completing his outstation campaign, the TVK side submitted a request seeking permission for Chennai events. Police granted permission for campaigning from 3 pm to 6 pm in T Nagar, Egmore and Triplicane.
In T Nagar, Vijay sought votes in support of TVK candidate Anand. Standing in a van, he waved to people lined up on both sides of the road, while police restrained youths who attempted to cross barricades to get closer.
A speech had been announced in T Nagar, but the vehicle stopped only briefly and moved on, with Vijay not speaking. The report said many who had been waiting were disappointed. He later continued canvassing in Egmore and Triplicane, where several people presented him with gifts along the route.
