Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday said Tamil Nadu’s cities are rising globally in terms of infrastructure development.

His remarks came after a video shared on social media showed a person with disability using a wheelchair to travel smoothly on the Chennai Metro, including at the Koyambedu station. Stalin reposted the clip and responded with a statement.

Calling it “just the beginning,” the Chief Minister said his 14-point long-term plan, tagged as StalinStatement, includes a commitment to create ‘Complete Streets’—walkable streets with trees—across all parts of Chennai by 2030.

He added that the same model would be extended to all major cities in Tamil Nadu, and said the “Dravidian Model 2.0” government would help the state’s urban infrastructure gain global recognition.
