TVK leader Vijay on Wednesday released the party’s full election manifesto at an event held at a private hotel in Nungambakkam, Chennai. The manifesto was formally received by representatives including a farmer, a teacher, an auto driver, an anganwadi worker, a fisherman and retired SP Amirthalingam.

With the Tamil Nadu Assembly election scheduled for April 23, TVK is contesting alone in all 234 constituencies. Vijay said the manifesto was framed around the principles of Thirukkuralaram (virtue), porul (prosperity) and inbam (well-being)—and positioned “honesty” as the party’s political ideology.

Among the key promises, Vijay said women up to the age of 60 would receive ₹2,500 per month credited to the bank account of the woman head of the household. He also promised six free LPG cylinders per family every year.

The manifesto further lists support measures such as 8 grams of gold and a quality silk saree for poor women from poor families, and an annual ₹15,000 assistance to mothers/guardians of children studying in Classes 1 to 12 in government and government-aided schools to prevent dropouts. It also proposes interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh for women-led self-help groups.

On employment, Vijay said the party would create job opportunities for 5 lakh youth. The manifesto also includes education proposals such as free residential schools offering quality education for Classes 6 to 12 in every district, and a collateral-free loan guarantee of up to ₹20 lakh from undergraduate to doctoral studies, along with future-skills training centres and AI-enabled free coaching for competitive exams.
