Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) and the BJP, speaking at a DMK alliance campaign meeting at Bommaikuttai Mett in Namakkal district.
Stalin alleged that the proposed Lok Sabha constituency delimitation could “silence” Tamil Nadu’s voice if seats are redrawn purely on population, calling it an injustice to the state. He said Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s campaign assurance was not enough and demanded a formal, legally binding commitment in Parliament.
Calling the issue a “grave danger” created by the BJP and the AIADMK, Stalin said the DMK had already begun protests by hoisting black flags. He asserted that “self-respecting Tamils” would not submit to what he described as “Delhi’s remote control.”
Stalin also accused the AIADMK government led by EPS of being marked by alleged corruption and failures, citing issues ranging from the gutkha case to tenders, and referring to incidents such as the Thoothukudi firing and the Pollachi sexual assault case. He warned that if the AIADMK’s rule was so poor, a direct BJP rule would be worse.
Framing the election as a choice between “Tamil Nadu or Delhi,” Stalin claimed EPS had “surrendered” to the BJP’s “washing machine” to escape accountability. He urged voters to defeat the BJP and the AIADMK, and called for the DMK to return to power.
