The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a 2% increase in dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the decision after the Cabinet meeting in New Delhi. With the revision, the DA rate will rise from the current 58% to 60%.
The Cabinet has also cleared a similar 2% increase in dearness relief for pensioners, moving it from 58% to 60%.
In 2025, the dearness allowance for central government employees was raised by 3% and fixed at 58%.
