Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to campaign in Coimbatore on Friday (April 18) in support of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates.
With the Tamil Nadu Assembly election campaign scheduled to conclude on April 21, the NDA has intensified its outreach across the state. Modi had earlier campaigned through a roadshow in Nagercoil on April 15, where AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami also took part.
The Coimbatore event will be held as a public meeting on Friday evening. Modi is expected to seek votes for AIADMK and BJP candidates contesting in Coimbatore and surrounding district constituencies.
Palaniswami and other NDA alliance leaders are also slated to attend the meeting.
Separately, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will campaign on Saturday for BJP candidate Kirthika in the Modakurichi constituency of Erode district. He is also scheduled to hold a roadshow on Saturday evening in Chennai’s Mylapore in support of BJP candidate Tamilisai.
