Karaikudi campaign speech
Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief Seeman, speaking during election campaigning in Karaikudi, took aim at what he described as parties offering money and “tokens” to secure votes.
He said some political forces focus on leaving wealth, gold and assets for their children, while he wanted to leave behind cleaner air, safe drinking water and food free of harmful substances for the next generation.
Seeman reiterated that he would not pay money for votes, calling it against his principles. He argued that voting for money harms democracy and said he would not accept what he termed a “money-driven” politics.
Referring to promises such as monthly cash amounts and “tokens” of ₹8,000 or ₹10,000, he questioned whether such tokens could truly be used anywhere to buy anything. In a sarcastic remark, he said he would take a token to “sir” and ask for the Chief Minister’s post in return.
He also mentioned that a doctor had advised him not to speak for two months, but said he continued to address the campaign in his own way.
