PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss on Saturday appealed to actor Vijay’s supporters not to “waste” their votes in the ongoing election, and instead back the AIADMK-led alliance.
Speaking to reporters in Cuddalore, Anbumani said Vijay had entered politics only recently and argued that the stated purpose behind launching Vijay’s party was to oppose the DMK and remove it from power. He said the PMK and its allies shared the same objective.
Anbumani claimed Vijay’s party could attract votes but would not be able to win seats, and urged Vijay’s supporters to vote for the AIADMK-led front if their goal was to defeat the DMK.
He also said the alliance aimed to secure more than 200 seats and asserted that the DMK should not even emerge as the opposition, calling for support from all sections, including women and Vijay’s supporters.
