AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said he has come from Delhi to campaign for DMK leader M.K. Stalin, citing the development Tamil Nadu has seen during Stalin’s tenure.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Kejriwal said Stalin is a close friend, but added that he is campaigning primarily because of the work being done for the people of Tamil Nadu. He claimed the state has recorded significant progress and growth across sectors under the current government.

Kejriwal said the ongoing initiatives would continue if people vote for Stalin, and asserted that Tamil Nadu would see even more progress over the next five years. He warned that if an AIADMK-BJP alliance comes to power, the “good schemes” implemented so far would be undone, drawing a parallel with what he alleged happened in Delhi after the BJP came to power.

He also said he was pleased that Stalin strongly opposes what he called the Union government’s authoritarian approach. Kejriwal described the delimitation reform bill as an attack on democracy, welcomed its defeat, and termed it a major setback for the Modi government, adding that he believes the BJP government’s days are numbered.
