Chennai witnessed heightened election activity as the final phase of campaigning for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections nears its close, with canvassing scheduled to end tomorrow.
TVK chief Vijay took part in vote-seeking efforts in support of Ponneri candidate Ravi and Gummidipoondi candidate Vijayakumar. A large vehicle convoy accompanied him, while police provided security as crowds moved along in a procession-like manner.
During the roadshow in the Ponneri constituency, Vijay appealed for votes while holding up a portrait of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
An unusual moment drew attention when Vijay noticed a newly married couple standing by the roadside. He invited them into his vehicle and congratulated them, after which the couple sought his blessings and appeared visibly delighted.
The roadshow was also streamed live on Dinamalar’s YouTube channel, according to the report.
