Chennai: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) on Tuesday said that if the AIADMK comes to power in Tamil Nadu, the monthly charge for Arasu Cable TV would be reduced by 50%.
With polling for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election scheduled for April 23, the party has been campaigning across the state. EPS said the AIADMK had already released 297 election promises and has now added 10 more.
Among the new announcements are compensation measures for worker fatalities. EPS said families of registered construction workers who die after falling during work would be given Rs 25 lakh, while families of palm workers who die after falling from palm trees would receive Rs 20 lakh.
The additional promises also include steps such as fixing a support price for mangoes, issuing a government order to continue the traditional Athukattu festival in parts of Krishnagiri district, and providing free small cashew-nut shelling hand tools in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts.
EPS further said 24/7 district-level war rooms would be set up to prevent and monitor crimes against women, special counselling systems would be created at the taluk level for students after college, and a single-window system would issue licences within 30 days for youth and young women starting micro and small enterprises, with the subsidy raised from 25% to 35%. He also announced a Rs 10,000 subsidy for 10 lakh working youth to buy two-wheelers under the Amma Two-Wheeler Scheme.
