Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Tamil Nadu to campaign for the NDA alliance ahead of the Assembly election and met alliance candidates and leaders in Coimbatore.
At a meeting held at a private hotel, attended by BJP and AIADMK functionaries as well as representatives of key industry bodies from Coimbatore, Naidu launched a new slogan: “DMK must be defeated; Tamil Nadu must win.”
He cited Andhra Pradesh’s recent push in information technology, saying the state had attracted investments for data centres and quantum computing initiatives. He also said an airport was planned in Amaravati on 2,500 acres.
Naidu alleged that the DMK government was hesitant to provide 500 acres of land for the Coimbatore airport and claimed Tamil Nadu’s IT sector had declined, with investments moving to other states. He further accused the DMK regime of widespread corruption and said Chennai had lost its sheen.
In a later interaction with reporters, Naidu criticised the DMK’s stand on issues such as constituency delimitation and the women’s reservation bill, calling it an injustice to southern states and women. He also warned that population-based delimitation proposed for 2027 could significantly reduce the share of southern states and questioned whether Tamil Nadu was prepared for it.
