Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is in Tamil Nadu to campaign for alliance candidates in the final phase of the Assembly election campaign, told reporters in Chennai that parliamentary seats in South India would not be reduced.
Speaking at Guindy, Naidu said, “I am also a Dravidian,” and urged people not to forget it. He said Tamils are among the best at protecting their mother tongue and noted that Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu share many similarities.
Naidu alleged that the DMK is opposing women’s reservation for political reasons. He also said he was shocked by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s remarks about having “defeated Delhi.”
On the issue of representation, Naidu asserted that seats in South India would not decrease and claimed they would increase by 50%. He further criticised Chennai’s road conditions, said stormwater drain works were incomplete, and claimed crimes against women have increased in Tamil Nadu.
