Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin held a discussion via a mobile application with around 75,000 DMK booth agents across the state on Monday, a day ahead of polling.
Stalin asked party workers to keep up the pace through election day, stressing that every vote matters. Referring to the party’s fight over constituency delimitation, he said that victory was only a “trailer” and that more battles lie ahead, adding that Tamil Nadu’s rights cannot be touched as long as the party remains strong in the Assembly.
He instructed each booth agent to revisit homes within their booth limits to seek votes and ensure that supportive votes for the DMK-led alliance do not slip through. Agents were also told to keep volunteers ready and make arrangements to bring senior citizens and persons with disabilities to polling stations.
Warning that opponents could attempt violations out of fear of defeat, Stalin asked agents to report any rule-breaking or malpractice to the command centre. He also directed them to stay at the polling station until the last vote is cast, and said he would review booth-wise vote performance after results, promising to personally meet the booth agent who delivers the highest votes in each constituency.
