Chennai: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has released a video message during the election campaign, saying he wanted to speak “from the heart” about his affection for Tamil Nadu and the risks the state faces.

Recalling the 2021 Assembly election, Stalin said some had described him as “more dangerous” than former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. He said he cannot be compared with Karunanidhi, whom he often addressed as “leader,” but added that he would indeed be “dangerous” to those who seek to cheat Tamil Nadu or block its progress.

Stalin said his government’s first objective is “development with social justice,” and claimed Tamil Nadu has achieved double-digit economic growth that many states have not reached. He acknowledged there are shortcomings, said he listens to public feedback, and asserted steps have been taken to address issues, with results expected soon.

He also said the DMK was the first to register opposition to the BJP-led Union government’s constituency delimitation bill, and claimed his act of burning a copy helped galvanise resistance. Stalin accused the BJP of spreading a false narrative that the DMK is anti-Hindu, insisting the party is not, and said the DMK stands up when minorities face problems.

Stating that he would protect Tamil Nadu and Tamils in the face of any challenge, Stalin appealed to voters to support the DMK and its allies by voting for the “Rising Sun” symbol and alliance symbols to continue “good governance.”
