Former AIADMK minister Sengottaiyan, who has joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and is contesting from Gobi, became emotional during the final phase of election campaigning.

On the last day of canvassing, he campaigned in Seethamma Colony and addressed voters as part of the final round of vote-seeking.

In his speech, Sengottaiyan recalled an incident from a meeting in Vellore, where TVK leader Vijay noticed a photograph of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa kept in his shirt pocket. He said Vijay later invited him home and told him, as a senior leader, to continue keeping the photo in his pocket.

Saying that no one had spoken to him that way before, Sengottaiyan grew visibly emotional, with teary eyes, and concluded his remarks. He also said that if TVK comes to power, he would make Gobi the headquarters and form a separate district.
