Chennai: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has written to DMK members urging them to remain vigilant through polling day and ensure that every supportive vote is secured in a dignified manner.

In the letter, he said the achievements of the five-year “Dravidian Model” government have benefited households across Tamil Nadu, while the BJP-led NDA—along with the AIADMK and allied parties—has continued to “cheat” the state. He claimed voters understand that backing the AIADMK-led alliance effectively helps the BJP, and asserted that the electorate is determined to defeat the BJP-led front and vote for the DMK-led secular progressive alliance.

Stalin said people are rejecting what he described as smear campaigns by political opponents and want a “Dravidian Model 2.0” government. He added that the hard work shown by DMK members since the election date was announced must continue with the same alertness on April 23.

He issued specific instructions to booth agents: they should reach polling stations 90 minutes before voting begins; they should not sign Form 17C at the start, and should sign only after polling ends and figures are verified, obtaining a copy. He also asked them to ensure tokens are issued to all voters in the queue at closing time and to confirm that the election officer presses “Close” on the CU button, with agents signing required forms along with officials.

Calling the 2026 Assembly election a crucial contest for Tamil Nadu’s continued development and for safeguarding the state’s rights, Stalin said the DMK-led alliance would win if everyone worked together with vigilance.
