Police in Tirupattur arrested a ThaVeKa supporter after he recorded a video of himself casting his vote and posted it on social media.

Election rules prohibit voters from filming inside polling booths or revealing whom they voted for through videos shared online. The Election Commission has warned that recording inside a booth can attract imprisonment and fines.

Based on these provisions, police took action against the supporter, identified as Sakthivel, for uploading the voting video.

Reports suggest that others have also posted similar voting videos on social platforms. Several sections have urged authorities to initiate legal action against those involved.
