Perambalur: Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thol. Thirumavalavan on Wednesday said his party would stand firmly with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, expressing confidence that the DMK-led alliance would return to power.
After casting his vote at the Anganur polling booth in Ariyalur district, Thirumavalavan told reporters that the DMK alliance would win more than 200 seats and form the government. He said the election was not a fight between two parties or two fronts, but a contest between two ideologies, and asserted that Tamil Nadu would reject divisive politics.
He credited the DMK government’s five-year tenure for initiatives aimed at empowering women, citing schemes such as Pudhumai Penn, the monthly entitlement assistance, and Vidiyal Payanam. He said social justice would be strengthened under a renewed Stalin-led administration.
Thirumavalavan also criticised actor Vijay, alleging that his campaign focused only on opposing the DMK without outlining policy principles or future plans. He further claimed the state had achieved notable progress during the DMK’s term, including economic growth, and said Stalin had promised to consolidate these gains in the next government.
Stating that Stalin had a long-term vision to take Tamil Nadu forward across sectors, Thirumavalavan said the VCK would extend full support to that effort.
