Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin travelled to Kodaikanal on Friday for a brief rest, accompanied by his family, after polling for the Assembly election concluded.
He left Chennai around 10 am by a special flight to Madurai, along with his wife Durga. Speaker Appavu received them at the airport.
When reporters asked about the prospects of an election victory, Stalin did not respond verbally and instead signalled a “thumbs up” before leaving.
From Madurai, he proceeded by car and reached a private star hotel in Pambarpuram, Kodaikanal, around 3 pm. DMK cadres welcomed him at several points along the route, and he stopped at places to acknowledge them and accept gifts.
Stalin is expected to stay in Kodaikanal until April 29. Police security has been strengthened around the hotel, and drones have been banned within Kodaikanal town from 6 am on Friday until he returns to Chennai.
