The United States has announced a provisional anti-dumping duty of 123.04% on solar power cells and modules exported from India, according to the US Department of Commerce.
The department said its investigation involving companies including Mundra Solar Energy, Mundra Solar PV, Goa, and Premier Energies found “critical circumstances,” leading to the imposition of the preliminary duty.
The order will also apply to shipments sent up to 90 days before the order is issued, the department added.
Reacting to the move, Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, CEO of the National Solar Energy Federation of India, said the findings appear to be without basic evidence and are not logically acceptable, adding that the federation has filed an appeal.
Amit Manohar, General Secretary of the Indian Solar Manufacturers Association, said the group would approach the International Trade Commission and expressed hope of a favourable ruling.
