India’s defence sector is steadily moving away from an era of heavy dependence on imports, with the country now positioning itself as an exporter of advanced equipment. Alongside large corporations, a new set of entrepreneurs is also contributing to this quiet transformation.
One such entrant is Veera Dynamics, founded in 2022 and linked to the vision of young innovator Sai Teja Bettineneni. The company focuses on advanced materials and protective wear designed for high-risk operational environments.
Its “Tardigrade” suit is presented as a next-generation protective outfit capable of withstanding extreme temperatures—from around minus 200°C to plus 1000°C—while safeguarding the wearer. For fire- and chemical-heavy work zones, the firm has also developed “U-Safe”, described as a protective suit intended to shield human life from intense flames.
The company also highlights specialised gear such as “D-Grade Cryo Safe” suits for harsh cold conditions including liquid nitrogen environments, and lightweight anti-freeze protective suits aimed at personnel operating in freezing Himalayan conditions.
In addition, Veera Dynamics points to “Project Rama”, a stealth-focused concept designed to avoid detection by enemy radar and infrared systems across land, sea and air. For this effort, it has partnered with drone manufacturer Pinboard Research Labs, as India seeks to strengthen its role in the advanced materials market projected to grow significantly by 2030.
