The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has said heavy rain is likely in five Tamil Nadu districts—Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Dindigul and Theni—on May 1 and May 2.
In its bulletin, the weather office said light to moderate rain is likely from April 27 to April 29 over the Western Ghats districts, the coastal districts of south Tamil Nadu, and coastal parts of the delta districts.
For April 30, it forecast heavy rain at one or two places in Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri.
The bulletin also noted that with high temperatures and high humidity, discomfort may be felt at a few places in coastal Tamil Nadu, as well as in Puducherry and Karaikal.
