In a Premier League cricket match in Delhi on Sunday, Bengaluru registered a commanding nine-wicket win over the home side.
After winning the toss, Bengaluru opted to field first. Delhi suffered a dramatic collapse in the powerplay, losing six wickets for just 13 runs — their lowest powerplay score, and a record low for the phase.
Abishek Porel and David Miller briefly steadied the innings and took the total past 50, but wickets continued to fall. Porel top-scored with 30 as Delhi were dismissed for 75, with Hazlewood taking four wickets and Bhuvneshwar Kumar claiming three.
Chasing a modest 76, Bengaluru’s openers Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli attacked from the start. Bethell fell for 20, but Kohli (25 not out) and Devdutt Padikkal (34 not out) completed the chase in 6.3 overs to seal the nine-wicket victory.
