Tehran: A temporary halt to the US-Iran war remains in place, with US President Donald Trump saying it will continue until peace talks lead to an agreement.
According to the report, an initial round of talks held in neighbouring Pakistan ended without success. Efforts to organise a second round have continued, but the process has been repeatedly postponed as both sides put forward conditions.
Against this backdrop, Iranian MP Ebrahim Rezayi from Dashtestan province questioned whether Pakistan is qualified to act as a mediator.
Rezayi said Pakistan may be a “good friend,” but argued it does not have the credibility required for mediation. He alleged that Pakistan largely considers American interests, avoids speaking against US positions, and therefore cannot be accepted as an impartial mediator if it is seen as favouring one side.
