Prime Minister Narendra Modi played a friendly game of football with young players in Gangtok, Sikkim, on Monday morning. Photographs from the moment, shared on social media, have been widely circulated online.

Modi is on a two-day official visit to Sikkim. He is scheduled to take part in the state’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

As part of the visit, the Prime Minister is also set to dedicate various development projects worth about Rs 4,000 crore to the people of Sikkim.

In his post, Modi said there was nothing like starting the day by playing football with “young friends” in Gangtok. He added that the session left him feeling motivated and refreshed.
