The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecast that maximum temperatures could be 2–3°C above normal at a few places in Tamil Nadu.
In a statement, the RMC said the rise in daytime temperatures is likely from April 28 to May 2 across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
The weather office also warned that high temperatures combined with high humidity may cause discomfort at one or two locations in coastal districts, as well as in Puducherry and Karaikal.
For Chennai, the forecast indicates a cloudy sky. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 38–39°C, while the minimum may be around 28°C, with humid conditions potentially leading to discomfort.
