Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) will conduct a ‘Shatru Samhara Yagam’ at the Tiruchendur Murugan temple on Monday, party sources said. The ritual is being organised with the stated aim of ensuring favourable election results and overcoming political rivals.
According to TVK sources, party leader Vijay places strong faith in Hindu religious practices and consults an astrologer before initiating key activities, following timings suggested by the astrologer.
The sources claimed that since the party’s formation, Vijay has not taken major steps without such consultation, and attributed his rapid political rise to this approach.
They added that, based on the astrologer’s advice to perform certain rituals to secure a major victory in the Assembly election, the party planned the ceremony at Tiruchendur.
The yagam will be performed on Vijay’s behalf by TVK general secretary Anand, with a few people close to Vijay also expected to participate, the sources said.
