Heavy rain likely in 8 Tamil Nadu districts on May 2: Weather office

The Chennai weather office has issued a heavy rain alert for parts of Tamil Nadu, stating that eight districts may receive heavy rainfall on May 2.

According to the bulletin, the districts likely to see heavy rain on May 2 are Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Dindigul, Theni, Madurai, Virudhunagar and Sivaganga.

The advisory also lists districts that may receive heavy rain on April 30: Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, Erode, Tiruppur, Tiruchirappalli, Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri.

For May 1, the weather office has indicated the possibility of heavy rain in Nilgiris, Erode, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Dindigul and Theni.

The department said these details were part of its official statement.
