Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said India was not intimidated by “nuclear threats” during Operation Sindoor and chose to disregard such rhetoric while carrying out its objectives.

Speaking at a national security conference in New Delhi, Singh said Indian forces targeted those who attacked India. He stressed that the operation was not stopped because of any lack of capability, but was paused voluntarily.

Singh added that India was prepared, if required, to engage in a full-scale war. He said the armed forces had once again demonstrated readiness not only in peacetime but also for wider conflict scenarios.

Reiterating India’s stance on terrorism, he said there should be no distinction between terrorists and those who support them. Marking one year since Operation Sindoor, Singh said the action had sent a message that India would not limit itself to diplomatic statements after terror attacks on its soil.

He also alleged that countries such as Pakistan continue to support terrorism, contrasting India’s leadership in information technology with Pakistan’s image as a hub of international terrorism.
