Gold prices in Tamil Nadu rose on Wednesday evening, with 22-carat jewellery gold increasing by Rs 200 per gram to Rs 14,100. The price per sovereign (8 grams) climbed by Rs 1,600 to Rs 1,12,800.

The move comes a day after a steep decline. On Tuesday morning, gold slipped by Rs 150 per gram to Rs 13,950 and fell Rs 1,200 per sovereign to Rs 1,11,600.

Later on Tuesday evening, the price eased further by Rs 50 per gram to Rs 13,900, while the sovereign rate dropped another Rs 400 to Rs 1,11,200.

Silver also saw volatility. After remaining unchanged earlier, it fell by Rs 5 per gram to Rs 260 on Tuesday, before rising by Rs 10 on Wednesday evening to Rs 270 per gram, taking the kilogram rate to Rs 2,70,000.

According to the report, there was no change in gold and silver prices on Wednesday morning before the evening rebound.
