Mumbai authorities have seized 349 kg of high-grade cocaine valued at Rs 1,745 crore, officials said. The recovery was made by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
According to the agency, the seizure foiled an alleged attempt by an international gang to bring a large consignment of narcotics into India. Officials said the operation helped disrupt a wider network.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the officers involved in the action. In a post on X, he said the government remains firm on eliminating drug cartels and that close monitoring of smaller trafficking cases helped uncover a bigger network.
The development comes days after another major haul. On April 29, NCB officials seized 200 kg of ganja that was allegedly being transported from Malkangiri in Odisha to Coimbatore, the report noted.
