Chennai: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Thursday said people waiting for the election results would receive “good news” in the next two to three days.

Marking Labour Day, Stalin paid floral tributes at the memorial pillar in the May Day Park at Chintadripet, Chennai. He said May Day is observed to uphold workers’ rights and to stress the need for fair wages for labour.

Recalling that May Day celebrations in India began in Chennai, the Chief Minister said the DMK would reap the benefits of its work on May 4. He underlined that there was “no change” in this expectation.

Stalin also said his remarks should not be seen as based on opinion polls. He added that the DMK government had implemented labour welfare schemes in a manner that drew attention across the country.
