Canada’s intelligence agency has warned Parliament that Khalistani extremist groups continue to pose a threat to the country’s national security.
In its assessment, the agency said these groups have been involved in violent incidents, and their ongoing activities remain a persistent security concern.
The report also noted that some extremist groups maintain good connections within Canadian society and use Canadian entities to plan violent terrorist activities.
At the same time, it said some Canadians take part in lawful and peaceful advocacy in support of the Khalistani separatist movement.
