Jaipur witnessed a high-scoring contest as Delhi defeated Rajasthan by seven wickets, successfully chasing down 225 in 19.1 overs. The win came after Delhi had suffered three consecutive defeats.
Rajasthan captain Riyan Parag chose to bat after winning the toss. Delhi welcomed back pacer Mitchell Starc, returning from a shoulder injury, and he struck early as Rajasthan slipped to 12/2 with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi departing in quick succession.
Parag then rebuilt with Dhruv Jurel in a 102-run stand for the third wicket. Parag brought up his fifty off 31 balls and went on to make 90 off 50, while Jurel scored 42 before falling to Axar. Late hitting from Donovan Pereira, who remained unbeaten on 47 off 14 balls, lifted Rajasthan to 225/6, with Starc finishing as Delhi’s leading wicket-taker with three.
In reply, Pathum Nissanka and Rahul gave Delhi a flying start, adding 110 for the first wicket in 9.3 overs and both reaching half-centuries. Nissanka made 62 before falling to Jadeja, Nitish Rana added 33, and Rahul’s 75 off 40 kept the chase firmly on track.
Ashutosh Sharma (25*) and Stubbs (18*) then completed the job without further trouble, taking Delhi to 226/3 and sealing a seven-wicket victory.
