Claim of big win
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Selvaperunthagai said the DMK-led alliance is confident of winning more than 200 constituencies. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Coimbatore.
Criticism of surveys
Selvaperunthagai said what is being circulated are not genuine opinion polls, alleging that those conducting them are trying to impose their own views on the public. He added that he has been stating the “200-plus” target from the beginning.
Campaign push
He said leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin campaigned across constituencies, and expressed confidence that the alliance’s efforts would not go in vain.
Warning on LPG prices
Selvaperunthagai also claimed that after the elections conclude, LPG cylinder prices could be increased within two or three days.
