DMK functionaries from the Srivaikuntam Assembly constituency in Thoothukudi district have sent a complaint letter to party president and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, alleging that a minister’s actions could lead to the defeat of the alliance’s Congress candidate.

According to the complaint, Congress MLA Amirtharaj is contesting again from Srivaikuntam as the DMK-led alliance candidate. The letter claims that DMK organisers did not extend adequate cooperation to his election work.

The functionaries alleged that Minister Anita Radhakrishnan, who serves as DMK’s Thoothukudi South district secretary and was also the election in-charge for the constituency, failed to campaign in Srivaikuntam while campaigning in constituencies in Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts.

They further claimed that she worked in favour of AIADMK candidate Shanmuganathan and instructed party workers to campaign for him, describing it as “internal sabotage” against Amirtharaj. The letter also alleged that Congress workers were not allowed to function effectively in the constituency.

The complainants said they expect Amirtharaj to lose due to these factors, and asserted that if such a defeat occurs, the minister should be held fully responsible.
