Tehran: A senior official from Iran’s Supreme Leader’s office has said Mojtaba Khamenei is in good health and continuing to monitor the country’s day-to-day affairs, dismissing circulating rumors about his condition.

Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi, described as a senior official and deputy head of the office for international affairs, said reports about Mojtaba’s health were “completely false.” He added that while Mojtaba has not appeared in public, he is directly overseeing important discussions and developments on the ground.

According to Qomi, Mojtaba survived the Feb. 28 strike because he had stepped into the building’s courtyard minutes before the attack. He said Mojtaba has also been issuing guidance and instructions to the team involved in peace talks.

The official alleged that “enemies” were spreading the rumors to advance their plans. The remarks come after US President Donald Trump recently said it was unclear whether Mojtaba Khamenei was alive, prompting the response from Iran’s leadership office.
