Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran on Thursday said he has no faith in opinion polls, alleging that such surveys function as a form of “opinion imposition”.

Speaking in Nagercoil, he said the true assessment of public sentiment would become clear on May 4.

He also claimed that the party referred to as “Thaveka” has no chance of winning anywhere, and said the BJP was remaining calm because it expects to win.

On issues such as gas prices and petrol and diesel, he said the Union government would take steps keeping public welfare in mind.
