Former Tamil Nadu minister K.A. Sengottaiyan on Friday said the 2026 election outcome would be a “historic” victory, claiming it would be remembered in the state’s political history.

Speaking to reporters in Erode, Sengottaiyan described the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as a movement driven by humanity and said its leader Vijay was a leader who works with the people. He asserted that Vijay would go on to govern Tamil Nadu, adding that “tomorrow’s history” would reflect it.

Sengottaiyan said the party had faced many challenges and opposition, but claimed Vijay had continued his efforts without pause. He also said public opinion surveys would be clear and that first-time voters were looking for a “new change” and a strong leader for the state’s future.

He further claimed that surprising results would emerge and projected that the party would win between 150 and 200 seats. Responding to a question about Vijay calling candidates to the party office, he said such meetings were routine and claimed party workers were committed to the leadership.

Sengottaiyan also made remarks about Nainar Nagendran, saying it would be his final election and that the party leadership would decide whether he would hold any post after the polls.
