Chennai: MDMK general secretary Vaiko said it would be clear whether TVK can form the government only when the votes are counted.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he noted that most opinion polls are indicating a DMK-led government. He added that one survey appeared favourable to the AIADMK, while another suggested an advantage for TVK.
Vaiko said TVK has significant support among students and first-time voters, and that the real picture would emerge only during the counting of votes.
He also said TVK has emerged as a notable force in Tamil Nadu. Referring to the Dravidian movement, he said it was built through the hard work and sacrifices of many and cannot be destroyed.
Vaiko said he believes the DMK alliance will secure a majority and form the government.
