Four women teachers were killed after a large pine tree fell onto a moving jeep in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, police said.

The incident occurred on the Shamshar–Kukra road near Bali–Oyal, when seven people, including women teachers, were travelling in a Bolero Camper. Strong, storm-like winds reportedly hit the area at the time.

A roadside pine tree collapsed onto the vehicle, causing the driver to lose control. The jeep then rolled into a nearby gorge, according to the report.

Police and local residents rushed to the spot and carried out rescue efforts. The deceased were identified as Snehalata (38), Panti Gundal (38), Usha Kumari (43) and Seema Ashad (54).

Three others, including the driver, sustained serious injuries and were said to be in critical condition.
