TVK has emerged as the single largest party in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Assembly election, winning 108 seats, according to the results.

However, the party has not secured an outright majority. A total of 118 MLAs’ support is required to form the government, meaning TVK will need backing from other parties.

In this context, TVK leader Vijay has written to Governor Rajendra Arlekar, urging him to invite TVK to form the government as the single largest party.

In the letter, Vijay has also sought 14 days’ time to demonstrate majority support on the floor of the House.
