Actor Vijay is expected to take oath as Tamil Nadu’s new Chief Minister on May 7, with a grand swearing-in ceremony planned at Chennai’s Nehru Indoor Stadium.

The report said his party, which contested the recent Assembly election on its own, won 108 constituencies and emerged as the single largest party. Despite falling short of the seats needed for a clear majority, Vijay is set to meet the Governor and stake claim to form the government.

Arrangements for the event have begun, and senior officials have reviewed security and logistical plans. The discussions involved the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, the DGP and the Chennai Police Commissioner.

Ministers are also expected to take oath on the same day. Consultations within the party on who will get which portfolio have reportedly started.
