Chennai: A Facebook post by Poongundran Sankaralingam, former personal aide to late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, has gone viral after he linked actor-politician Vijay’s election victory to astrology and numerology.

Sankaralingam said the recent Assembly election results may have surprised many, but were a clear message to those who “read time”. Citing earlier warnings that “surprises are waiting” and that complacency should be avoided, he argued that the outcome has once again proved that astrology is not mere belief but a form of precise calculation.

In his post, he referred to astrologer Rathan Pandit as having predicted Vijay’s win in advance. He also claimed that guidance, name-based positive energy and numerology can be as important in politics as hard work and leadership.

Sankaralingam further recalled Pandit’s past association with Jayalalithaa, stating that a name change involving an added letter had once been suggested for her. He added that Pandit had also advised changes to his own name, and credited that guidance for helping him navigate setbacks and continue in public life.

The post has sparked fresh discussion online about whether Vijay sought astrological advice, even as Sankaralingam maintained that such practices yield results only when followed correctly and with the right expert.
